Join the movement to Protect Beautiful Queensland

By joining the PBQ community, you’ll:

  • Help protect the one-of-a-kind landscapes that underpin Queensland’s outdoor way of life – for us, our children and their children.
  • Support Traditional Owners, rangers and volunteers to lead work like fire management, wildlife surveys, and caring for Country.
  • Stay informed about the issues, plans and opportunities that affect nature, access and the outdoors.
  • Connect with a growing community of people who value nature and want to make a positive difference.
Together we can help keep Queensland the best backyard in the world.

Queensland is home to some of the best outdoor experiences on Earth. From the desert rivers of the Channel Country to the rainforest tracks of the tropical north, every walk, ride and camping trip connects us to a landscape that’s alive with wildlife, stories and meaning.

But we could lose what we love most about getting outdoors.

At less than 9 percent, Queensland protects less of its land for nature, culture and recreation than any other state, even though we’re the richest in plants and animals. When the bush is healthy, hikes are better, creeks run clearer, and the chance to spot a Greater Glider makes every night under the stars more memorable.

To us, conservation means building a community of nature lovers — people who feel connected to the places they explore and want to see them thrive. The best way to do that is to get more people outdoors. A relationship with nature is one many people carry for life, and it deepens every time we head outside.

For tens of thousands of years, First Nations Peoples have cared for the land and waters through connection and knowledge passed down over countless generations. That experience can guide how we care for Country today and be a source of pride for everyone who shares or visits this place.

We’re bringing together people who love the outdoors and want to keep our bushland healthy and ready for the next adventure.

We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land. We recognise the diverse cultures, histories and heritage of the many countries across Queensland and their deep connection to the lands, waters and seas. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
